AW Bot System
Does anyone have a problem with the Alienware Bot system? I have configured one and the price seems to good to be true. I should order it without the graphics card and buy a better one on Tiger Direct, Newegg, ect... I do alot of gaming and this system seems like it would handle everything. I have an old AW laptop right now and am looking for something better. Here are the specs of what i might order:

After you order it(if you do), get a raptor, better and bigger psu, and like you said a better graphics card. The only problem is that it is hard to find a good pci-express card.

I know somebody who has one, and the case is pretty small. Great if you need it, not so great for modifying or replacing parts. Other than that, he has had no problems, and likes it very much.

First off if you are a gamer then stay away. The power supply is to weak to handle any higher end video cards. The chassis is waaaay to small to do anything productive with it and lastly if the system is anything over $600 then you are getting ripped off. Dude the CPU alone is almost a year old. Plus take out everything Alienware gives you software-wise, and i do mean everything. Strip the thingy completely but keep the OS. Also keep the one year warranty and don't upgrade because i made the drastic mistake of upgrading my lappy warranty to three years onsite and i have yet to see anybody come over and say hi whenever i have a problem.

Sheeeesh i just configured a bot and it came out to $1300. Now i didn't price out anything big just your bare minimum:
x600xt 512mb Audigy 2zs Winxp pro 80g sata drive Liteon 16xdvd/cdrewrite In fact i even took out the keyboard and mouse and everything else most people generally have. Darn this thing is expensive. |

Ok, I checked NewEgg and I was completely SHOCKED! The X800 XTPE is now $699.00. However hard it was to find a few months back, I only paid $525.00 for it! And now it takes up two exterior panels! I have never owned a piece of computer equipment that "apreciated" after I purchased it. |

I already asked her last year when she agreed to the new system. We are a team, I don't mind the fact that she has input. She is cool. She agreed to everything I have asked for last year including my DLP, laptop, both of our new cars, new SLI rig, trips to Hawaii and Orlando, and a ton of other things.
