What is the Best Gaming Keyboard?
Quote:
There are now hundreds of keyboards out there that tout themselves as being the perfect interfaces for gaming. Gamepads are all well and good but 'WASD' is the de-facto standard input for many games and for a reason - it's simple and it works.
Despite this, it's surprising how many keyboard manufacturers mess around with the tried and tested layout of a keyboard. Often this tinkering stops you being able to jump into a game knowing instinctively where the right keys are, and can also make simply typing anything a nightmare too.
Seeing as this is essentially what keyboards are meant to make easy, it's a pretty stupid thing to do. The Saitek Eclipse II, like the Saitek Eclipse before it, has won the hearts and minds of many of us here at bit-tech thanks to its simple design and the fact it's comfortable to use.
Less if often more in the keyboard world, especially when more features usually results in the price skyrocketing too. In this increasingly competitive area of the market, what can manufacturers do to make their keyboards stand out? We take a look at six of the latest to hit the shelves of etailers from £27 to £134.
