e-machine-xp dead as dirt
Couple of days ago after a FS flight, I shut down and later cranked up and got bunch of "power surge on hub port...a USB device has exceed limits...." messsages.
The only problem initially was that I couldn't use my USB joystick. Went on line with emachine "wizards"....followed their instructions and, now, nothing works. Tower will light up, fans on, working indicator light on permanently but I can't open the DVD-CD drives and the monitor quits after showing a green light. The "wizards" had me uninstall the USB controllers and go into BIOS and reinstall. XP recognized "new hardware" but now I'm dead in the water. I was going to install a new HDD but am not sure if that is the problem. Any help appreciated. JimVT |

can you get into safe mode?
what i like to do is after the safe mode screen pops up, it asks if you'd like to do a system restore.....i do...set it back to a time you know it worked fine. works for me. |
