Thanks in advance guys,:awdance:

The Aurora is AMD powered and the Area-51 is powered by Intel.

Congrats on the Area-51 it looks very nice! I would consider going w/AlienIce option instead of standard cooling...just a few bucks more. I assume you left a CD or DVD burner out of the configuration on purpose?

Hee, hee we both edited on top of each other...and answered the questions!

I would pesonally go w. amd, don't get me wrong that certainly is a ripping system. but if your budget permits, go w/ what will rock the socks for your games...w00t w00t

Yep i would have to go with yang there Amd is the new leader in gaming. If like you say this comp is strickly for gaming i'd go with the fx 57 if you can afford or if money is issue the fx-55. If your doing mutli tasking the dual core is the way to go but even there amd is the king go with the x2 4800 if you can if not drop down to the x2 4400. Both the 4800 and the 4400 have 2meg cashe and 2000 mgz fsb where the 4600 has only 1 meg cashe.

ARRGG I just specd' it out on the AW site, wow way too rich fer my blood. Please forgive my ignorance on this subject as all I have ever used is is Intel, but are your suggestion biased to use AMD or is it in point fact that AMD is better than Intel at this point, technologically speaking. I only ask cause i dunno. I did order ALienIce 2.0 cooling though!! So as this system stands intel and all, still is it good or average in comparison to others? I am not a techie by any means of the word, I gathered info from several people to create this comp. Wish I woulda found this site earlier... But it still is an AW!!!

Thanks again fellas,

Voo

AlienIce liquid cooling suXors. AMD has proven to beat Intel hands down for gaming.

DarthBeavis is right. The Alienware Liquid Cooling for the 7500 line up until now is CPU only and not necessary w/the comparative cooler CPUs out now.

AlienIce 2.0 Video Cooling should be all you need with your config as is.

if you can't afford the big dog amd, I would suggest going w/ the 3200+ for now (specially if they are a venice core), they are easily OC (overclock) able and you can later on upgrade the CPU to a FX etc. later on

save you bucks, rip your games and still have the opportunity for upgrades.

Sweet cant thank you guys enough! I will definatley look into swapping out intel fer the amd... Yang gotta say I saw your post in regards to the mod you did excellent job m8! Kudos on that. Hows it holding up?.. Also the cooling I purchased was just the 2.0 not the liquid jazz... and it was only 46 bucks so twas money well spent. Given that im not "Savvy" with all of the computer lingo, frankly some of what you guys say may as well have been written in german, but from what I do understand I greatly appreciate all your input! This in itself adds a new reason for me to purchase a AW machine! At least im not gettin FLAMED here, well not yet anyhow.

Thanks again fellas for your time and input! Soon as I get that beastie will be sure ta send outta pic of her new home!

Do most AW owners refer to their rigs as "him or her or just plain ole Beast?"

LoL kk. I currently have the 512 7800 vid card on order, would this card be sufficient alone or should I go down a notch and get dual?... I do have in mind to add another 512 vid card shortly if that helps there. Mainly I play CoD2 and a few others, thought it would be in my best interest to go with the higher vid card and add another down the road. Any thoughts on that?

That card will be enough. I have two sitting in a box next to me (replacing my dual 6800 ultras) Keep in mind the cards take up two slots each. I am putting on DangerDen SLI Waterblocks.
